The design of the signage and wayfinding system provides the AACIDs the opportunity to develop a cohesive brand with a unified visual identity for the area. Building from the design package for the Camp Creek Parkway Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) and signage at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, this brand should be easily identifiable and applied to high-traffic areas with the CID area. To achieve this balance, the planning team defined two primary goals for the Signage and Wayfinding Plan.
We are currently in Phase 2 of the Signage and Wayfinding plan which involves taking the initial designs of each sign type and refining them to ensure they are both visually appealing and functional. This may involve making adjustments based on feedback from stakeholders or conducting further research to optimize the design. Once the designs are finalized, the next step is to prepare for construction and implementation of the signage program within the ATL Airport Improvement Districts.
This process may include obtaining necessary permits, sourcing materials, and coordinating with contractors to ensure that the signs are installed correctly and on schedule. It is important to carefully plan and manage this phase to ensure that the signage program is implemented smoothly and effectively, ultimately enhancing the overall experience for visitors to the airport districts.
