Preserve Our Beauty
There is something special and beautiful when we collectively take care of our environment.
AACIDs Beautification Program
AACIDs Landscape Service Schedule Map
Our interactive map below serves as an information resource for local stakeholders in the area including property owners, board members, public and private supporters, and government entities. We are hopeful this will provide a clear and specific understanding of exactly which landscaped and right of way areas are maintained by our crews, along with what day(s) and how frequently. This schedule however may shift pending inclement weather, staffing of crews and holidays. If there are permanent changes in the schedule, they will automatically be updated on the web interface.
For example, if you notice an excess amount of trash on a particular area of Camp Creek Parkway the map below will illustrate 1) if the area of concern is within our maintenance area and 2) when landscape service is scheduled.
There Is No Planet B
Across the nation, litter and illegal dumping are harmful to property values and economic growth. High volumes of litter discourage business investment as it is seen as a proxy to the existence of crime and threats to public safety. High volumes of litter detract from residential areas and community pride.
According to Keep America Beautiful, “Litter is more than just a mark on our landscape. Litter is costly to clean up, impacts our quality of life and economic development, and eventually ends up in our waterways and oceans. Today, there are more than 50 billion pieces of litter on our nation’s roadways with 4.6 billion pieces larger than four inches in size. Tobacco products continue to be the most prevalent aggregate litter item, comprising more than 35 percent of all litter.”
With over 325 property owners representing more than 900 parcels in our region, we see litter and illegal dumping as high priority issues that must be resolved in order to cultivate an environment conducive for continued economic growth for the cities within the district as well as for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The AACIDs Beautification Program includes maintaining more than 25 miles of right-of-way with routine services that include: mowing, edging, trimming and debris/trash removal. Having a clean environment is a valuable asset to private and public property owners. In addition, such efforts support our objective to grow together and raise the collective value of the community’s commercial properties while making the AACIDs a destination for new businesses, residents, and visitors.
In May of 2021, we completed our AACIDs Litter Management Assessment Strategy with the goal of understanding the litter policies and programs across the region, assessing local and regional goals and prioritizing regional interventions that reduce and prevent the flow of litter across the AACIDs.
