Growing Together. Raising Value.

Atlanta, GA – The Airport West Community Improvement District (AWCID) and Airport South Community Improvement District (ASCID) Board leaders announced on Thursday, February 11, 2021 a new name and collective brand. ATL Airport Community Improvement Districts (AACIDs) will replace the former DBA of Aerotropolis Atlanta Community Improvement Districts. This award-winning organization found a need to become more distinguishable in the marketplace while increasing the value proposition for their over 325 property owners representing over 900 parcels.

The ATL Airport Community Improvement Districts will spark a new optimal experience for its Board members, property owners, and stakeholders in the cities of College Park, East Point, Hapeville, Forest Park, South Fulton, and portions of the City of Atlanta and as well Clayton and Fulton Counties. According to Gerald McDowell, the Executive Director, “Our goal is to empower our Boards and property owners with opportunities that are on the cutting edge of service solutions coupled with high quality branding. We also want to support our partners such as the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the ATL Airport Chamber, and the ATL Airport District offering a more cohesive stance in South Metro. In addition, as a Board member of the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance, we can now allow this entity to stand as the voice of the reason for economic growth and stability of our area.”

The Board Chair for ASCID and Founder & Partner of OA Development, Steve Berman, shared “We are very excited about our name change.  ATL Airport Community Improvement Districts accurately represents the dynamic community we are building in South Metro and reflects the promise of our future.”  Natalie Tyler-Martin, Vice President, Regional Asset Manager for Duke Realty serves as the Board Chair for AWCID. She highlighted, “When we began the formation of the CIDs seven years ago, our goal was to raise the collective value of the South Metro communities that surround the greatest economic engine, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Our new name and brand reaffirms our efforts to collectively grow together and build value.”

“We value our partnership with stakeholders, businesses and communities surrounding the Airport and the role that partnership plays in the success of this region,” said Airport General Manager John Selden. “The name ‘ATL Airport Community Improvement Districts’ shows that the community recognizes the Airport as a catalyst for economic progress.  We will continue our commitment to work with area business leaders to generate an even brighter future for the entire region.”

“The airport is the economic center for the south metro area.  Rebranding with a name that is more aligned with the Airport, will boost opportunity for infrastructure enhancements that elevate the value of commercial properties in the region.”  Carmenlita Scott, President and CEO of the ATL Airport Chamber.

“Our efforts go hand and hand and why not our name recognition.  You are all bringing in development and businesses that support our efforts.  In addition, the beautification projects only assist in our sales efforts.  It’s a beautiful thing and we are proud to share our name with you!  It’s a true partnership!  And one that will be with us for a long time into the future!!!” Cookie Smoak, President ATL Airport District.

The AACIDs are a catalyst for infrastructure enhancements through new investments, project planning, resource management, and partnership development. Our six key focus areas of Beautification, Infrastructure, Public Safety, Technology, Transit, and Wayfinding, ensure that we collectively grow together and raise the value of our community’s commercial properties while making the AACIDs a destination for new business, residents and visitors. Visit www.aerocids.com to learn more.
