Overnight Lane Closures on I-285 at Camp Creek Pkwy DDI Bridge this Weekend

ATLANTA –  Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will install overnight lane closures on I-285 this weekend in conjunction with ongoing construction of the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) project at I-285 and Camp Creek Parkway.

Weather permitting, alternating two left lanes and two right lanes will be closed on I-285 southbound at Camp Creek Parkway each weekend night from 9:00 pm until 5:00 am the following mornings, beginning Friday, January 10 through Sunday, January 12.  Police officers will assist with traffic pacing through the area.

Work crews will be sandblasting and painting the DDI bridge structure.  Once complete, the I-285 at Camp Creek DDI will improve traffic flow and mobility in the area, reduce traffic accidents and provide a distinctive gateway for the area.

As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511 for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
